### Father and Son Killed at Semillero de la Frontera in Mexicali
On the afternoon of September 18, 2024, a tragic double homicide occurred at Semillero de la Frontera, a business located in the San Gabriel neighborhood of Mexicali. A man and his son, both named Rubén, were the victims. The father was 80 years old, and his son was 50.
The incident took place around 2 PM when a suspect entered the premises and opened fire multiple times before fleeing on a motorcycle. This vehicle was later found abandoned in the vicinity of Calzada Manuel Gómez Morín, in the Corregidora neighborhood, to the north of the city.
This is not the first time the victims were targeted. In April of the same year, the father and son were shot at the same location but survived the attack, sustaining only non-lethal injuries.

In a separate, but likely related incident, another body was found earlier that morning along Federal Highway 2 at kilometer 20. The victim was a young man, his hands tied behind his back, and he had multiple gunshot wounds.
