Family Blocks Factory for Justice

Family members barricade Prime Wheel, demanding answers on Salazar’s disappearance. Tensions rise as protests continue, urging swift action from authorities.

### Families of Servando Salazar Block Access to Prime Wheel

Last week, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) announced forensic examinations would be conducted in the waste ovens of the factory. Missing since August 23, Salazar’s family has taken a stand, setting up an indefinite blockade at Prime Wheel, obstructing access for workers.

Family members and demonstrators have placed banners, posters, tents, and vehicles at various entry points of the wheel manufacturing company, demanding justice for Salazar. Clarissa Cano, Salazar’s sister, stated that the sit-in began around 7 pm on Sunday, closing the entrances to Plant 1, Plant 3, the main factory entrance, and the truck entry and exit points.

“We demand clarity on the DNA test results, but to date, we haven’t received confirmation if it’s Servando or not. They also mentioned sieving through the ashes where he might have been, yet there has been no response,” Clarissa said.

Wendy Bravo, Salazar’s wife, added that they have been in communication with the FGE, which has focused on the DNA results, blood samples found inside one of the plant’s bathrooms, and the inspection of waste ovens.

This is the second protest at the factory; last Wednesday, family members blocked employee access for several hours. Some factory workers joined the sit-in alongside Salazar’s family, occasionally chanting “justice,” while others watched from the sidelines.

Prime Wheel responded to the blockade, emphasizing their cooperation with authorities since Salazar’s disappearance. They highlighted that while they understand the family’s frustration, the blockade jeopardizes the jobs of over 7,000 workers. The company urged authorities and protestors to allow investigations to proceed without affecting the livelihoods of many.

### Secondary Update: State Investigation Continues in the Search for Servando Salazar

State authorities are intensifying their search efforts to locate Servando Salazar, the missing Prime Wheel employee. Recently, the Attorney General’s Office announced plans to perform a detailed examination of the factory’s waste ovens, suspecting they might hold crucial evidence.

The family maintains that the factory and local authorities need to expedite their investigation process and provide definitive answers about Salazar’s fate. With mounting pressure from protests and public outcry, state officials have pledged to prioritize the case, aiming to deliver justice and closure for the family.

Local news has reported increased tensions within the factory, as employees voice concerns over workplace conditions and the handling of the investigation. This has prompted further inquiries by the State Department of Labor, ensuring that the factory adheres to labor regulations and the well-being of its employees.
