Humberto Obet Montiel Herrera, a former federal deputy for Baja California, was arrested by officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC-CDMX) in Mexico City. The incident occurred at a Gotcha venue inside the Capital Reforma shopping mall, where Montiel Herrera was found in possession of a .380 caliber pistol and two loaded magazines.

According to reports from local media, Montiel Herrera, who is also a businessman, lacked the necessary legal permits to carry the firearm.
