The man was identified as 34-year-old Gerardo Ulises Negrete Razo, whose characteristics matched those of the body found in a blue, recent-model Kia parked on 4th Street and Gregorio Torres Quintero in the Maestros neighborhood.

Neighbors had alerted authorities due to a foul odor emanating from the vehicle and noticing an unidentifiable object inside. According to the missing person report, Gerardo was last seen alive in the Villas del Real III subdivision inside the same Kia before he vanished.
