**Claudia Agatón Muñiz Takes Office as Ensenada’s First Female Mayor: “It Will Be a Facilitating Government”**

In a historic moment for the city, Claudia Agatón Muñiz was sworn in as the first female mayor of Ensenada during a solemn session on Monday, September 30, 2024. The official decree for the term from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2027, was handed to Agatón Muñiz by Deputy Dunnia Montserrat Murillo López, President of the Board of the 25th Legislature of the Baja California Congress.

The ceremony, held in the lobby of the Municipal House, was attended by Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. Alongside Agatón Muñiz, the prosecutor and council members of Ensenada’s 25th Council were also sworn in.

Agatón Muñiz declared the official installation of the council and called for the first extraordinary council session, set to take place on October 1. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of unity and working for the residents of Ensenada, promising a government that listens and focuses on community needs.

“It will be a facilitating government, where ‘how to make it happen’ will be the only way of working,” the mayor emphasized.

Additionally, Agatón Muñiz called for the first extraordinary council session, to be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 12:00 PM in the Benito Juárez Hall of the Municipal House.
