**Ongoing Custody of Clandestine Drug Lab in Ejido Ignacio Zaragoza, Ensenada**

Authorities continue to maintain custody over a clandestine drug laboratory discovered in Ejido Ignacio Zaragoza, located in Ensenada. This lab, which has been operating under the radar, was unearthed on November 4th thanks to the efforts of the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) officials.

The clandestine operation was found at the juncture between the Valle de Guadalupe and Tecate, specifically near Rancho La Hiedra and Rancho Valle Seco. Members of Mexico’s Federal General Prosecutor’s Office (FGR) publicized its location. It was reported that this lab was under the purview of “Los Lara,” a criminal organization with a significant presence throughout the Valle de Guadalupe. This group is known to collaborate with a faction of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in the sale and trafficking of drugs.

SEDENA revealed that the discovery was the result of a strategic operation. The process involved ground reconnaissance by the Mexican Army, ensuring a security perimeter was established, followed by aerial monitoring to thoroughly inspect the area.

During the operation, officials secured approximately 7,320 liters and 2,400 kilograms of unidentified chemical substances, along with equipment used for drug production, including seven reactors, seven condensers, two centrifuges, and 15 gas L.P. tanks.

The seized materials have been handed over to the FGR in Ensenada, where further investigations and forensic analysis will take place to identify the substances and quantify the drugs produced. No arrests have been reported in connection to this illegal operation as of now.

**Secondary Update: Rising Concerns Over Drug Labs in Northern Mexico**

The discovery of the clandestine lab in Ensenada is part of a broader trend observed across northern Mexico. Recent reports indicate a surge in similar operations, attributed to the expanding influence of organized crime groups. These labs are primarily focused on manufacturing synthetic drugs, which continue to fuel illicit markets both locally and internationally.

Security forces have ramped up efforts across Baja California and neighboring regions to dismantle these operations. Special units have been deployed to conduct targeted searches and employ advanced technology for monitoring suspicious activities. Community cooperation has been highlighted as a critical element in these efforts, with local residents encouraged to report any unusual activities.

As authorities continue their crackdown, there is a strong emphasis on collaboration between different jurisdictions to curtail cross-border trafficking routes. The combined approach aims to not only curb production but also disrupt distribution networks, thereby reducing the reach of these criminal organizations.
