In an extraordinary session held on Tuesday, October 1, the Cabildo of Ensenada appointed three new public officials but postponed the selection of the Municipal Treasurer after more than an hour of delay.

Municipal President Claudia Agatón Muñiz requested the postponement of the Treasurer’s selection to a second session. The approved appointments are as follows:

1. **Julio César Arenas** was named Secretary Notary. He previously served in this role during the administration of former PAN mayor César Mancillas Amador in 2007.

2. **Martín Álvaro Alva Urías** was chosen as Director of Municipal Public Security (DSPM). The mayor noted that Alva Urías competed against more than 60 candidates and underwent the C3 trust control exam. She emphasized the need for strict adherence to legal requirements for this critical security position.

3. **Francisco Jesús Villavicencio Márquez** was appointed Director of Regional and Delegational Development.

Council member Isaías Bertín expressed his concerns about public safety and underscored the necessity for it to become a permanent agenda item to improve the situation.

Additionally, it was decided that council sessions will be held on the second Thursday of each month.
