# Four Public Security Agents in Ensenada Investigated for Protecting Murderers
**Ensenada, September 3, 2024** – In a recent development, four officers from the Ensenada Public Security Directorate have been arrested and are under investigation for allegedly protecting and covering up for murderers in the Valle de Guadalupe area. The arrest occurred on August 29.
According to María Elena Andrade Ramírez, the Attorney General, the investigation into a murder that occurred on February 8 at the Principal hardware store, located in the Francisco Zarco delegate area of Valle de Guadalupe, led to the implicated officers. Using a combination of video footage, interviews, and detailed analysis, substantial evidence was found that demonstrates how the officers assisted the perpetrators by providing perimeter security, opening pathways, and tracking the assailants.
These actions significantly hampered the investigation efforts by other law enforcement agencies, as stated by the Attorney General.
With the collected evidence, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Homicide Unit, supported by the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) and the State Citizen Security Force, successfully detained the four officers.
Furthermore, the Attorney General’s office possesses additional evidence suggesting that these officers may be linked to other high-impact criminal activities, including crimes against public officials. The likelihood that more officers could be involved in organized criminal activities has not been ruled out.
