### Ensenada Beach Cleanup Yields Over 900 Kilos of Trash
Ensenada, B.C. – In an impressive conclusion to March’s observance of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Month, a large-scale beach cleanup event was recently held at Playa Hermosa near the El Gallo stream. This community-driven effort resulted in the collection of over 900 kilograms of trash, highlighting the impact of collective action in environmental conservation.
Leading the initiative was Mayor Claudia Agatón Muñiz, alongside an enthusiastic group of about a hundred volunteers. Participants hailed from various city departments including Wellness, Education, Youth, Ecology, and Environment, as well as crime prevention units and specialized environmental groups such as Zofemat. The cleanup also saw participation from the Navy, the Ensenada Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education (Cicese), local fire services, and support from councilors Ana Daniela García Salgado and Jorge Eduardo Vega Zamora.
