**1,400 Violet Cards Distributed in Tijuana: Empowering Women Heads of Households**
On November 4, 2024, in Tijuana, 1,400 female heads of households were added to the nearly 32,000 women already benefiting from the Violet Card program. This initiative provides financial support and additional services. Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui, Secretary of Well-being, announced that this event marked the first of 20 planned gatherings aimed at distributing these cards. He assured that despite 36,000 registrants, the chances of not being selected are minimal.
Cardholders can activate their Banorte-issued Violet Card in four ways: visiting a Banorte ATM to change their PIN, using the Banorte app, accessing the Banorte website, or calling customer service. The card’s first deposit of $2,600 pesos is scheduled for November 11, with a subsequent deposit expected in December alongside other beneficiaries.
Beyond financial assistance, recipients can also access life insurance and 14 skills workshops. Additionally, educational opportunities are available, allowing women to pursue primary, secondary, and semi-schooled high school education for free.
Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda highlighted that political stability in Baja California paves the way for further initiatives benefiting citizens’ well-being.
