Get Ready for the Exciting “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th
Rosarito is set to host an exciting event on March 30th as “Playa El Bebé” becomes the venue for the first round of Baja California’s prestigious state fishing competition. This eagerly anticipated tournament is expected to attract a large number of anglers from across the region and neighboring Southern California.
Backed by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and supported by the state government, the tournament is part of the official fishing calendar coordinated by SEPESCA BC. This year, the tournament is organized by TJ Fishing Club, and spearheaded by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
This is the inaugural event of three selective beach fishing competitions, designed to determine participants for the State Championship. Registration for the tournament kicks off at 5:00 AM, followed by the start of fishing at 7:00 AM. The competition will wrap up with a final weigh-in at 1:00 PM, ensuring all participants in line by that time can showcase their catches.
Participants will have opportunities to win prizes in various categories, including children’s, women’s, and mojarra fishing, among other species. The day will also feature raffles and locally-prepared fish dishes.

Future tournament rounds are planned for April 27th at Ensenada’s Sunset Beach, and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín. Top participants from these events will earn a chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, from September 19-20.
