Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th
Rosarito is set to host the exciting “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament this Sunday, March 30th, at Playa El Bebé. The event marks the first stage of Baja California’s state fishing competition, promising to gather a large crowd. Last year, nearly 150 anglers from throughout the state and Southern California participated in this thrilling tournament.
Organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association under the support of the Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the event is backed by SEPESCA BC and hosted by TJ Fishing Club’s representatives, Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno. As the first of three selective beach fishing tournaments, participants are vying for a spot in the State Championship.
The day’s activities will begin at 5:00 AM with angler registration, and the fishing competition will officially launch at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in concludes at 1:00 PM, allowing those in line by the deadline to continue competing. Winners will be honored with prizes in categories such as children’s, women’s, mojarra, and various species. In addition to the fishing thrill, attendees can enjoy raffles and delicious foods made with local fish.

Following this thrilling competition, subsequent rounds are scheduled for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín. Top anglers from these events will secure a place to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Jalisco, scheduled for September 19-20.
