Join the Excitement at the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th
Get your fishing gear ready because Rosarito’s “Playa El Bebé” is set to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition on Sunday, March 30th. The tournament is expected to attract a large number of fishing enthusiasts after last year’s event brought nearly 150 competitors from all over Baja California and Southern California.
Organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and with the support of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration through SEPESCA BC, this event is a significant occasion for local anglers. TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, will be hosting this year’s tournament.
The tournament will initiate at 5:00 AM with registration for participants, and the fishing will officially begin at 7:00 AM. The competition will conclude with a weigh-in session that wraps up at 1:00 PM. Participants in line by this time will still have their catches evaluated. Categories for prizes include children’s and women’s categories, as well as the largest mojarra and other species. Additional attractions include raffles and food offerings made with local fish.

Competitors can register on the event day or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada and Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria. Following this tournament, the next rounds of the state competition are scheduled for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín. Successful participants will have the opportunity to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, on September 19-20.
