Rosarito is set to host the inaugural event of Baja California’s state fishing championship series this Sunday, March 30th at Playa El Bebé. Expectations are high, with last year’s tournament attracting nearly 150 anglers from all over the state and Southern California.

This event is officially part of the SEPESCA BC calendar and receives support from Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration. The Baja California Fishing Clubs Association is orchestrating the tournament, with TJ Fishing Club organizers, Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, taking the lead.

As the first of three selective beach fishing tournaments, it serves as a qualifier for the State Championship. Anglers can begin registering at 5:00 AM, with the fishing competition officially starting at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in wraps up at 1:00 PM, offering ample time for participants who are already in line.

Prizes will be awarded in various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. The day will also feature raffles and local fish delicacies.
