### Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th

Rosarito is set to host an exciting event for fishing enthusiasts this Sunday, March 30th, with the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament. Taking place at Playa El Bebé, this tournament marks the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition, and promises to be a thrilling day for participants and spectators alike.

Last year’s event attracted nearly 150 anglers from across Baja California and Southern California, and this year, organizers anticipate a similar, if not greater, turnout. The tournament is part of the official calendar of events supported by the Governor of Baja California and organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, with TJ Fishing Club leading the charge.

The competition will be in the form of a selective beach fishing tournament, one of three, that qualify participants for the State Championship. The day will start early at 5:00 AM with registration, followed by the official start of fishing at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in will conclude at 1:00 PM, with everyone in line by then still eligible.

Prizes will be awarded in various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. Attendees can also look forward to raffles and local fish delicacies. For those interested, registration details, rules, and prize information can be obtained by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com.

In support of the tournament, financial assistance was provided by Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, to help cover the event’s expenses. Participants have the option to register on the day of the event or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Following Rosarito, the next rounds of the state competition will occur on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Successful anglers will have the opportunity to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, from September 19-20.
