**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**

Attention anglers and fishing enthusiasts! Mark your calendars for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito, set for Sunday, March 30th. This event kicks off Baja California’s state fishing competition and is anticipated to attract a large crowd, with last year’s event bringing in nearly 150 participants from across the state and Southern California.

Organized under the official calendar of SEPESCA BC, and supported by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration, the tournament is the first in a series of three selective beach fishing events that will determine qualifiers for the State Championship. The event is hosted by the TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

The day will begin at 5:00 AM for fishermen to register, with fishing officially starting at 7:00 AM. Weigh-ins will close at 1:00 PM, but anyone in line by that time will have their catch considered. Participants will compete in a variety of categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. The event will also feature raffles and delicious food made with local fish.

Interested participants can find more details regarding registration, costs, rules, and prizes by contacting 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or by emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional information is available on the club’s website.

In support of the tournament, Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial assistance to cover event expenses. Participants can register on the day of the event or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Future rounds of the competition will be held on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Top performers will have the chance to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship on September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
