**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
This March 30th, the vibrant coastal town of Rosarito will once again host its much-anticipated “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament at Playa El Bebé. This marks the start of the Baja California state fishing competition, and a significant turnout is expected following last year’s participation of nearly 150 anglers from across the state and Southern California.
As part of the official schedule of SEPESCA BC, the tournament is backed by the support of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration and organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association. This year’s event is organized under the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
The tournament will be the first in a series of three selective beach fishing events determining top qualifiers for the State Championship. Check-in begins at 5:00 AM, with the fishing officially starting at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in concludes at 1:00 PM, with all participants in line by that time eligible for competition.
Participants can look forward to various prize categories, including contests for children, women, mojarra, and other species. Attendees can also expect raffles and enjoy local fish delicacies.

Looking forward, the subsequent rounds of the state competition are slated for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Top performers will earn a chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, happening September 19-20 in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
