**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**

Prepare for an exciting day in Rosarito as the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament kicks off on Sunday, March 30th. Hosted at Playa El Bebé, this event serves as the initial round of Baja California’s state fishing competition, drawing in participants from across the region, including Southern California. Last year, the tournament attracted nearly 150 anglers.

Supported by the administration under Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda and organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, the event will be managed by the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno. This tournament is the first of three selective beach fishing competitions that will decide who competes at the State Championship.

Activities begin bright and early at 5:00 AM with registration, followed by the official start at 7:00 AM. The tournament wraps up with the weigh-in at 1:00 PM. Participants who line up by this time will still have a chance to weigh their catches. The event features prize categories for children, women, mojarra, and other species, along with raffles and tasty local seafood dishes.

Interested anglers can learn more about registration, fees, rules, and prizes by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional details are available on the club’s website.

Victor Hugo Méndez, the head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has extended financial support to the event’s organizers to help cover the costs.

Registration is possible on the event day or in advance at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Looking ahead, the second round is planned for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, with the final round on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. The top performers will earn a spot to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, set for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
