**Gear Up for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**

Rosarito’s “Playa El Bebé” is set to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this upcoming Sunday, March 30th. Organizers anticipate a strong turnout, with last year’s event attracting nearly 150 fishing enthusiasts from across the state and Southern California.

This tournament is a part of the official calendar of the Baja California Ministry of Fisheries [SEPESCA BC], supported by the administration of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, and organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association. Hosted by the TJ Fishing Club and represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, this event marks the beginning of three selective beach fishing tournaments leading to the State Championship.

Anglers can register starting at 5:00 AM, with fishing officially beginning at 7:00 AM. Weigh-ins will conclude at 1:00 PM sharp, ensuring all participants queued by that time are counted.

Participants will vie for prizes in several categories, including children’s, women’s, and various fish species such as mojarra. Attendees can also enjoy raffles and locally-made fish dishes. Interested competitors can find details on registration, costs, rules, and prizes by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173 or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. More information is available on their website.

Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, provided financial support to assist with event expenses. Participants can register on the event day or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Looking ahead, the next rounds will take place at Sunset Beach in Ensenada on April 27th, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín on July 20th, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. The top anglers will represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, slated for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
