**Get Ready for the “El BebĂ©” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**

Rosarito is gearing up for an exciting fishing event as “Playa El BebĂ©” will host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition on Sunday, March 30th. This tournament is anticipated to attract numerous anglers, following last year’s impressive turnout of nearly 150 participants from across the region and Southern California.

The competition is officially part of the state sports fishing calendar, sponsored by SEPESCA BC, with support from the local government. It is organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and hosted by the TJ Fishing Club. The club is represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno, who are working diligently to ensure a successful event.

This tournament is the first of three selective beach fishing events that will determine who qualifies for the State Championship. The event will begin as early as 5:00 AM for registration, with fishing starting at 7:00 AM. Participants must ensure they are in line for the weigh-in, which closes at 1:00 PM, to have their catch considered.

Throughout the day, prizes will be awarded in various categories, including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. Attendees can also look forward to raffles and delicious local fish dishes. For those interested in joining the competition, more information on registration, costs, rules, and prizes is available via phone at 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173 or by emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com.

To support the event, Victor Hugo Méndez, the head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial backing to assist the organizers with costs. Participants can sign up on the day of the event or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Looking ahead, the subsequent rounds of the state competition are scheduled for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and July 20th at Playa El PabellĂłn in San QuintĂn. Successful anglers will have the chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in September at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
