**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
Rosarito’s beautiful “Playa El Bebé” is set to host the opening round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. With a strong turnout anticipated, the event is perfect for anglers from across the state and Southern California. Last year’s tournament attracted nearly 150 participants, and this year’s event is expected to do the same.
Organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and supported by the current administration, the tournament is under the skilled leadership of the TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno. This is the first of three selective beachfront tournaments where participants can earn their spot in the State Championship.
The day will begin bright and early at 5:00 AM with registration. Official fishing activities will commence at 7:00 AM and the weigh-in station will close at 1:00 PM; however, if you’re in line by then, your catch will still count. Exciting prizes await in categories such as children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species. In addition, raffle prizes and delicious local fish dishes will be available.

Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial support to help ensure the event’s success. Participants can sign up on the day or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.
Looking ahead, the following rounds of the state competition are scheduled for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada and July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín. The top anglers from these events will earn the chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Jalisco this September.
