Prepare for the Exciting “El BebĂ©” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th
Get your fishing gear ready for an exciting event in Rosarito, as “Playa El BebĂ©” is set to host the inaugural round of Baja California’s state fishing competition on Sunday, March 30th. Enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an engaging competition. Last year’s tournament welcomed nearly 150 anglers from all over the state and Southern California.
This competition is part of the official schedule overseen by SEPESCA BC and is backed by the local government. The event is organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and hosted by the TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
Marking the start of three selective beach tournaments qualifying participants for the State Championship, the day’s itinerary begins at 5:00 AM with angler registration, followed by the official commencement of fishing at 7:00 AM. Participants must ensure their catch is weighed by 1:00 PM to qualify for the competition.
At the conclusion, winners will be announced across several categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and more. Attendees can also look forward to raffles and local fish delicacies. Victor Hugo MĂ©ndez, in charge of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has presented financial support to the organizers to assist with the event’s expenses.
Participants wishing to register can do so on the day of the event or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.
Looking forward, the subsequent rounds of the state competition will occur on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El PabellĂłn in San QuintĂn, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San QuintĂn. Top performers from these events will earn the opportunity to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, scheduled for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
