**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**
Rosarito is set to host the exciting “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament on Sunday, March 30th at Playa El Bebé. This event kicks off the Baja California state fishing competition and is expected to draw significant participation from anglers across the region and Southern California, as last year saw nearly 150 competitors.
The tournament is organized under the auspices of the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and is part of the official calendar of the Baja California Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (SEPESCA BC). It is being managed by the TJ Fishing Club with representatives Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno at the helm. The event is financially supported by the administration of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda.
Registration for the tournament begins at 5:00 AM, followed by the commencement of fishing at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in will close at 1:00 PM to determine the winners. Prizes will be awarded in several categories, including children’s and women’s divisions, as well as species-specific categories like mojarra. There will also be exciting raffles and local fish culinary delights for participants and attendees.

In the following months, two more stages of the state competition will be held on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by the Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Successful anglers from these events will qualify to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco on September 19-20.
