### Get Ready for the Exciting “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th

Rosarito’s “Playa El Bebé” is set to host the kickoff event for Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. Organizers anticipate a large turnout, following last year’s successful gathering of nearly 150 anglers from the region and Southern California.

This tournament is officially recognized by SEPESCA BC and is supported by the administration of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. Organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, the event will be hosted by TJ Fishing Club under the guidance of Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

The “El Bebé” tournament is the first of three beach fishing competitions that will determine qualifiers for the State Championship. Activities will commence at 5:00 AM with registration, while the angling competition will officially start at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in will conclude at 1:00 PM, but those in line by then will still be eligible to compete.

Participants will vie for prizes in various categories, including children’s and women’s divisions, among others. The day will conclude with raffles and culinary delights featuring local seafood.

Aspiring participants can find information on registration, costs, rules, and prizes by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional details are also available on their website.

Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial aid to help defray the costs of hosting the event. Registration is available on the day of the tournament or in advance at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Following the Rosarito event, the next rounds of the state competition will be hosted by Club Pura Vida at Sunset Beach in Ensenada on April 27th, and by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín at Playa El Pabellón on July 20th. Top anglers from these tournaments will earn the opportunity to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship, scheduled for September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
