Anticipation is high among local fishing enthusiasts, as the event promises to attract a substantial number of participants from both across the state and nearby Southern California.

This tournament is an integral part of SEPESCA BC’s official calendar, under the auspices of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration and organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association, with the TJ Fishing Club spearheading the event. Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno are key representatives helming this year’s competition.

The event marks the onset of a series of three selective beach fishing tournaments, allowing anglers to qualify for the prestigious State Championship. Activities begin bright and early at 5:00 AM with registration, followed by the official start at 7:00 AM. Anglers have until 1:00 PM to present their catch, as the weigh-in wraps up at that hour.

Categories for prizes include children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species, ensuring that the competition offers something for everyone. Additional draws and local fish delicacies further enhance the event experience.
