**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**

Rosarito is gearing up to host the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament, marking the start of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. Held at Playa El Bebé, the event attracts anglers from across the state and Southern California. Last year, nearly 150 participants flocked to the tournament.

The event is part of the official calendar of SEPESCA BC, supported by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration, and orchestrated by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association. This year’s tournament is hosted by TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

Competing anglers have the chance to qualify for the State Championship through this tournament, the first of three selective beach fishing events. Registration begins bright and early at 5:00 AM, with the fishing officially kicking off at 7:00 AM. The weigh-in concludes at 1:00 PM, ensuring those in line by that time can still enter their catches.

Participants can look forward to prize categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other species, along with raffles and a feast of locally caught fish. For those interested in throwing their hats—or fishing rods—into the ring, registration details, costs, rules, and prizes are accessible by calling 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional information is also available on the club’s official website.

To assist with event costs, Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial support to the organizers. Registrees can sign up on the day of the tournament or pre-register at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or at the Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Looking ahead, the following rounds of the competition will be held on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, organized by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, hosted by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Winners from these tournaments will earn the opportunity to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, on September 19-20.

**Additional News: Rosarito’s Spring Break 2025: A Mixed Bag for Local Tourism**

Rosarito is bracing for an unpredictable spring break in 2025. While the city anticipates bustling activity from visiting tourists looking to soak up sun and adventure, local businesses remain cautious amidst fluctuating travel trends. Economic experts suggest that potential visitors might be slightly more reserved in their spending, contributing to mixed projections for the local tourism industry.
