### Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th
Rosarito is getting ready to host the highly anticipated “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament on March 30th, marking the first round of the Baja California state fishing competition. Taking place at Playa El Bebé, the event is expected to attract a large number of fishing enthusiasts from both local areas and Southern California. Last year, nearly 150 anglers participated, generating much excitement and competition.
This tournament is part of the official calendar of SEPESCA BC and is supported by the administration of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. The Baja California Fishing Clubs Association is organizing the event, with the TJ Fishing Club being the host, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
The tournament, which kicks off a series of three selective beach fishing events leading to the State Championship, will begin with registrations at 5:00 AM. Official fishing starts at 7:00 AM, and participants must be in line by 1:00 PM for the final weigh-in. Categories for the prizes include children’s, women’s, mojarra, and other fish species. In addition, attendees will enjoy raffles and local seafood.

Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial assistance to aid in organizing the event.
The subsequent rounds of the state competition will occur on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, organized by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, brought to you by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Successful anglers will have the opportunity to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, on September 19-20.
