**Get Ready for the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito This March 30th**

Mark your calendars for an exciting event in Rosarito, as “El Bebé” Beach prepares to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition on Sunday, March 30th. This highly anticipated tournament is expected to draw a large crowd of fishing enthusiasts from the area and beyond, as it did last year with nearly 150 participants from Baja California and Southern California.

The tournament is part of an official series supported by the state’s fishing authority, SEPESCA BC, with backing from the current administration. The event is organized by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and orchestrated by the TJ Fishing Club, led by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

This year’s competition kicks off the series of three selective beach fishing tournaments that will qualify top anglers for the State Championship. The tournament day begins bright and early at 5:00 AM with registration, followed by a 7:00 AM start for fishing. Competition wraps up with a weigh-in at 1:00 PM, offering various prizes across categories including children’s, women’s, mojarra, and others. Participants can also enjoy raffles and a variety of foods featuring local fish.

Anglers interested in participating can get more details on how to register, costs, rules, and prizes by contacting the organizers via phone at 664 493 6014 or 664 339 9173, or by emailing tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Further information is available on the organizers’ website.

To support the event, financial assistance has been provided by Victor Hugo Méndez, who is in charge of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC. If you plan to join, you can register on the day of the event or pre-register at either Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

Looking ahead, subsequent rounds of the state competition are scheduled for April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, hosted by Club Pura Vida, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín, organized by Pioleros del Valle de San Quintín. Winners from these events will earn spots to represent Baja California in the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship on September 19-20 at Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco.
