The Canine Unit of the National Guard recently discovered a suspicious package at Tijuana International Airport, which appears to contain cocaine.

With proper authorization, National Guard officers and their canine partners conducted a search at the cargo hangar of a courier service within the airport premises. During this operation, the canine exhibited a change in behavior near a cardboard box originating from Colonia Santa Fe, Álvaro Obregón, Mexico City. The labels on the box claimed it contained thermal insulation. However, upon inspection, the officers found two packages wrapped in purple plastic containing a powder resembling cocaine.

The discovered shipment has been handed over to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office in Baja California for further investigation, as announced by the National Guard on Sunday, September 22.

The officers confiscated 1,697 doses of various substances, seemingly including crystal meth, cocaine, and marijuana. The suspects and the confiscated substances have been turned over to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office in that region.
