### Exciting New Attractions Unveiled for the Disneyland Resort at the D23 Expo
On the evening of August 10th, during the much-anticipated second night of the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center, Josh D’Amaro, President of Disney Experiences, unveiled a series of thrilling new additions for Disney destinations. These include new cruise ships, lands, attractions, shows, and storytelling platforms made possible through a unique collaboration with Epic Games.
“Disney Experiences is on an accelerated path of ambitious development and innovation,” said D’Amaro. “With so many wonderful Disney stories to tell, we are excited to bring an unprecedented number of new projects to life in the near future, whether it’s in our theme parks, on our cruise ships, or through our partnership with Epic Games in the digital space.”
Among the numerous announcements, the first attraction based on the movie “Coco” is set to arrive at Disney California Adventure (DCA) in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. This attraction will take visitors on a journey through the Land of the Dead, guided by the beloved character Miguel.
Additionally, DCA will introduce an “Avatar” experience with a thrilling attraction centered around Pandora and the future films in this popular saga. The Main Street Opera House will debut “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” the following year, featuring an Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney for the first time.
Marvel fans have plenty to look forward to as the Avengers Campus at Disneyland Resort will double in size, incorporating two attractions: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.
“Bayou Adventure” themed after Tiana is set to open on November 15th, replacing Splash Mountain in Disneyland, right before the start of the holiday magic and the seasonal celebrations at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Furthermore, for the followers of the “Star Wars” saga, a new mission aboard the “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” is in the works. This adventure will follow the storyline of the Mandalorian and Grogu, coinciding with the release of a new movie featuring these characters slated to debut in theaters in 2026.
These are just a few of the exciting additions that Walt Disney Imagineering has planned for the Disneyland Resort, which will be celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2025.
