**Holiday Surprises at Disney: Tiana and Miguel Join the Festivities**
Exciting news for Disney fans as the festive season approaches! Disneyland Resort is set to dazzle visitors with a mix of new attractions and beloved classics this holiday season. Among the highlights are the introduction of the first Disney mariachi band with a musical experience themed around the movie “Coco” and the debut of Tiana’s latest adventure in a brand-new attraction. Favorites like “A Christmas Fantasy,” “Believe… in Holiday Magic,” and “World of Color” will also make a triumphant return.
On November 15, the holiday magic at Disneyland Resort kicks off with the grand opening of “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” in the new Bayou Country area of Disneyland, ushering in the Christmas season across the parks, hotels, restaurants, and shops in Anaheim, California. Inspired by Disney’s animated film “The Princess and the Frog,” the attraction will initially operate with a “virtual queue,” requiring guests to reserve access via the Disneyland app at three set times daily: 7 a.m., 12 p.m., and 4 p.m. The “Lightning Lane Multi Pass” offers a time-saving option for entering the virtual line (subject to availability).
Guests embarking on Tiana’s adventure will start by exploring “Tiana’s Foods,” where delicious dishes set the stage for Mardi Gras celebrations. The journey follows the path of the former “Splash Mountain,” promising exciting music, animatronics, vibrant animations, thrilling twists, and water features, culminating in grand scenes featuring characters from the beloved movie.
Also opening November 13 is “Louis Critter Club,” a new store offering a wide variety of merchandise inspired by Princess Tiana and her friends, ranging from sweatshirts and plush toys to home decor and sweets.
Carmen Smith, Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director for Product Development/Inclusive Content Strategy, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring Tiana’s story to life at Disneyland. This project highlights the perseverance and collaboration that made it possible fifteen years after the film’s release. Charita Carter, Walt Disney Imagineering’s first African-American Executive Producer, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the honor of bringing Tiana’s world to Disneyland.
In addition to this exciting new attraction, the holiday spirit returns with traditional and fresh offerings across Disneyland Resort. “Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season,” featuring Mirabel from “Encanto,” will run Monday to Friday at Paradise Gardens Park, complemented by “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!” on Buena Vista Street.
This enchanting evening show features storytelling blended with singing and dancing, culminating with Miguel’s rendition of the classic “Silent Night” alongside Disney’s first mariachi band on stage. Guests can pose for festive photos with characters in holiday attire and indulge in diverse cuisines available at the “Festival of Holiday,” with live bands playing reggae, jazz, mariachi, polka, and more.
Disneyland hosts “Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends!” at the Fantasyland Theatre, the return of “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” themed festivities at “It’s a Small World,” and the expansion of attractions like the decorated Haunted Mansion with characters from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” The giant Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., captivating decorations, multicolored lights, a festive culinary guide, photo ops with Santa, and the evening show “Believe…In Holiday Magic” featuring a snowy finale at the Sleeping Beauty Winter Castle are just parts of the magical experience at Disneyland Resort.
