### In the aftermath of DiDi Driver’s tragic death, investigations by FGE unfold, shedding light on potential leads while igniting safety concerns within Mexico’s ride-hailing landscape.

### Last Ride of DiDi Driver Among Investigative Lines: FGE

The State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) has revealed several lines of investigation regarding the tragic death of DiDi driver Jesús Eduardo Mora Gomar. The 48-year-old driver passed away at Tijuana General Hospital over the weekend after suffering a fatal head injury.

According to María Elena Andrade Ramírez, the head of the FGE, Mora Gomar was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious state on Tuesday, August 13. He never regained consciousness, rendering him unable to provide any account of the events leading to his injury.

“The homicide prosecutor and his team have been reviewing surveillance footage and collecting testimonies from the onset. Regrettably, the victim has now passed away. One of the primary lines of investigation focuses on the ride he was conducting at the time, but other possibilities are also being considered,” stated Andrade Ramírez.

While a robbery hasn’t been ruled out, no missing property has been reported so far. “The car was intact and found in situ; there’s an ongoing investigation to determine whether any belongings were stolen,” added the prosecutor.

Notably, the victim showed no signs of defensive wounds, but the severe head trauma ultimately claimed his life. “Certain developments have been made in the investigation, but due to their sensitive nature, they can’t be disclosed yet,” she said.

The driver’s family lost contact with him on the night of August 11. The last communication was at 11:00 p.m., and the GPS signal from his car was last detected at 3:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, in the Planetario neighborhood. His blue Nissan March was later found in Cañón de la Pedrera, an area near the final GPS location.

Search efforts commenced immediately, involving the collective “Familiares Unidos Buscando a Nuestros Desaparecidos” (FUBAND). On Tuesday, August 13, the driver was found alive but unconscious at Tijuana General Hospital after a tip-off via text message.

However, despite being found, Jesús Eduardo did not recover from the severe head injury and passed away on Sunday, August 18. His sister, Perla Mora, expressed her grief on Facebook, saying, “With great sorrow, I announce my beloved brother Jesús Mora has returned to the house of God.”
