### Cerro de las Abejas Park Temporarily Closed for Renovations
The Cerro de las Abejas Park, situated in the East Zone of Tijuana, will be temporarily closed from August 12th to 28th for renovation works within the recreational area. Despite the closure, the park will still host the “Serial Delegacional” event on August 24th.
According to a statement from the Tijuana City Council, the goal is for this park to become one of the lasting legacies of Mayor Montserrat Caballero RamÃrez. However, since the announcement of its management in September 2022, there has been no official inauguration date.
As of March 2024, construction had reached 75% completion. Nevertheless, the park had already been opened to the public, with children playing amidst rebar, dirt, sand, and various construction materials.
The Tijuana Municipal Sports Institute (Imdet) has announced that the park will be the venue for the Sixth Stage of the “Serial Delegacional La Presa,” a 5-kilometer race organized by the municipal department, set to occur on August 24th.
The park is scheduled to reopen to the general public on August 29th.
