### Temporary Closure of Cerro de las Abejas Park for Maintenance Work
The Cerro de las Abejas Park, located in the East Zone of Tijuana, will be temporarily closed from August 12 to August 28 due to ongoing maintenance and construction work. Although the park will remain closed during this period, the Sixth Stage of the Serial Delegacional La Presa, a 5-kilometer race organized by the Tijuana Municipal Sports Institute (Imdet), will proceed as scheduled on August 24.
The Tijuana City Council announced that the development of Cerro de las Abejas Park is intended to be one of the legacies of Mayor Montserrat Caballero RamÃrez. However, since the project was unveiled in September 2022, details regarding its official grand opening have not been disclosed. As of March 2024, construction was reported to be 75% complete, yet the park was already accessible to the public, with visitors—many of them children—navigating through areas still under active construction.
The park is set to reopen to the general public on August 29, following the completion of the ongoing works.
