Do you love a good scare? Embrace your spooky side at the Tijuana Cultural Center’s (CECUT) Halloween-themed events. On October 24th, CECUT will host a “Scare Battle” in an open mic format, inviting everyone to share their scariest micro-stories in just two sentences. The event will kick off at 6:00 PM in CECUT’s Reading Room and participants can take the stage up to three times. To add to the fun, the event is free and attendees are encouraged to come in costume.

Adding a literary twist, “Mapachills: Little Haunted Library,” created by Roberto Lango, will also be a part of the event. This initiative promotes horror literature and its various subgenres, providing the perfect backdrop for a spooky evening.

As part of CECUT’s Halloween lineup, on October 20th, they will host a public reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s poetry, showcasing his impact on horror literature. Meanwhile, the Carlos Monsiváis Room will feature horror film talks and screenings from October 10th to 27th, as a part of the Macabro XXIII International Horror Film Festival of Mexico City.
