### Anniversary Rodeo at Casián Ranch
In celebration of the 18th anniversary of Rancho Casián, the sixth event of the 2024 rodeo season was held. This vaquero (cowboy) festival brought together riders from various states across Mexico, all showcasing their impressive skills in events such as bull riding, bareback horse riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, pole bending, and calf roping.
Winners included Fernando Domínguez for bull riding; Gabriel Gómez for bareback horse riding; José Medina for saddle bronc riding; Paola Valdez in barrel racing; Eduardo Dueñas for calf roping; Arturo Mena and Cesar Valera for team roping; and Giovanna Puentes in pole bending.
“Riders have realized that the competition here is tough, both in the level of bulls and overall quality. They know when they come, it will be a challenging competition,” commented Rubén Navarro, a representative of the ranch.
Since its establishment in 2006, Rancho Casián has become a regional hub for rodeo, promoting the sport throughout the state.
“It’s a privilege and great honor for the Casián family to have the public’s preference for all this time. We’re very happy; the competition was great, both in bull and horse riding, not to mention the times in barrel racing and other events,” Navarro added.
The rodeo season is scheduled to conclude on November 17, with a final showdown between local ranch riders and those from the Tombstone circuit.
