Card Necessity for Youth Careers

“Secure your future: Processing your Military Service Card is vital for employment, licenses, and federal roles. Increased awareness campaigns aim to guide and motivate youths in this crucial step.”

**Consequences of Not Processing the Military Service Card**

Tijuana, September 10, 2024 – Despite the waning interest among younger generations in processing the Military Service Card, David Rubio De La Torre, head of the Municipal Recruitment Board, emphasizes its necessity for those who have not yet completed this requirement. Failing to secure this document may present obstacles when seeking employment or a professional license.

Rubio De La Torre clarified that even though the Military Service Card is no longer mandatory for obtaining a Mexican passport, it remains essential for youths aiming to work in the Federal Government, join the police force, obtain a firearm license, or practice as a doctor through a professional license.

The official noted that individuals often become desperate to obtain the card after facing job rejections due to its absence. “In the past three years, I have had around three thousand young people demanding their Military Service Card. Daily, I receive about forty inquiries from individuals eager to expedite the process. However, this is not possible due to strict verification protocols involving myself, the mayor, and the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA). I urge young people to complete this process timely because it is still required for federal institutions,” he conveyed.

A ceremony is scheduled for September 12 to distribute non-liberated Military Service Cards to over 600 young individuals, who will then attend a draw in November to determine their requirement to fulfill military service.

Rubio De La Torre also mentioned that those born in 2006 or defaulters can approach SEDENA, adding that individuals above 25 years old are no longer required to partake in weekly military service and will also participate in the draw.

He concluded by expressing concerns over the diminishing sense of patriotism among the youth, attributing it to the reduced prominence of military parades and other patriotic traditions.

**Additional News: Youth Motivated to Process Military Service Card**

In a related effort to encourage young people to process their Military Service Cards, various local entities have started awareness campaigns. Authorities have reported increased engagement as more youths understand the strategic significance of holding this document in their professional pursuits.

Local municipalities have teamed up with educational institutions to inform final-year high school and university students about the procedural requirements and benefits of securing the Military Service Card. Workshops and seminars are being conducted to guide these young individuals through the necessary steps.

A recent survey indicated that awareness initiatives have positively impacted compliance rates, with a notable uptick in applications over the past few months. Young people are gradually recognizing that despite the card’s waning necessity for passports, it remains crucial for other significant career milestones.

Community leaders are hopeful that continued efforts will foster a renewed sense of responsibility and patriotism, ensuring that young citizens are well-prepared and in good standing for future federal or professional opportunities.
