Calle Brasil Revamp Planned

Montserrat Caballero Ramírez’s administration prepares 133 projects for the next administration, featuring Calle Brasil’s revitalization. School blockade and Banobras payment also mark current events in Tijuana.

### Rehabilitation of Calle Brasil Planned for Next Administration

The current administration under Montserrat Caballero Ramírez will leave behind 133 viable projects, including the rehabilitation of Calle Brasil in Colonia Madero, for the next administration to execute, as announced by the head of the SDTUA, Juan Enrique Bautista Corona.

The Calle Brasil project includes reducing traffic lanes and widening the sidewalk to make the area more pedestrian-friendly. The project also involves new signage, Bautista Corona stated during a presentation before local council members, which was part of the third government report.

Additionally, Bautista Corona mentioned that next week they will begin site visits with members of Burgueño Ruiz’s team to review 11 projects that will remain incomplete by the end of the current administration. One of the notable projects that will not be completed is the park at Cerro de Las Abejas, which includes the construction of a sports court. Once finished, this park will be handed over to the IMDET.

Of the 220 million pesos spent on the park, 21 million were contributed by the private sector. However, Bautista Corona indicated, “The idea was for greater private sector involvement, but this did not materialize as expected.”

Moreover, the Macroplaza Bridge will only reach 30% completion by September 30, primarily because the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has yet to make necessary changes to a high-voltage line.

### Additional Updates: School Blockade over Lack of Teachers

In related news, mothers in Tijuana are currently blocking a school due to a shortage of teachers, causing significant disruptions. This protest underscores the urgent need for more sustainable staffing solutions within the education sector.

### Banobras Payment and Government Closure

Despite financial challenges, the SITT has managed to pay 209 million pesos to Banobras. However, the government’s operations remain in a “very critical” state as it approaches the closure of Montserrat Caballero’s term.
