Authorities in Ensenada are investigating after the charred remains of a still-unidentified individual were found inside a burnt vehicle on the morning of August 8, 2024. The discovery was made by the Fire Department who responded to the scene.
The report from the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) indicated that at approximately 5:05 AM, officers from the Municipal Public Security Directorate received a call about a fire on a dirt path known as José Rodríguez Street in the Las Palmas neighborhood, heading towards a location referred to as Cumbres 400.
On arrival, first responders found a Volkswagen Passat, model year around 2014, with license plate B97 NZR 6, completely engulfed in flames. The car’s trunk was open, revealing a burnt body inside.
The Homicide Unit of the FGE was requested to process the scene and begin an investigation.
