### Border Battle Tournament to be Held at Arena Zonkeys
The 2024 edition of the renowned international basketball tournament, “Border Battle,” will take place at Arena Zonkeys from August 22 to 25. This year’s event will see participation from five teams representing various U.S. regions, including Florida, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego, enhancing the tournament’s competitive level.
The tournament offers a unique opportunity for Baja California basketball players to compete against international talent. Local representatives will include Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana, Cetys Universidad Campus Mexicali, and the Tijuana Zonkeys’ youth teams, with an additional team to be confirmed shortly.
Eva Torres, the founder of the Border Battle Tournament, stated that the teams will be divided into two groups of five. Besides being a prolific event for sports, the tournament aims to support the Tijuana Sin Hambre Foundation by collecting non-perishable food items. Admission to the event requires attendees to bring food donations, with a goal of amassing three tons. These donations can also be dropped off at the Zonkey Store or the CANIRAC Tijuana offices during office hours.
