### Experience the Magic of La Original Banda El Limón’s “Momentos” at the San Diego Zoo
In anticipation of their new album titled “Momentos,” La Original Banda El Limón visited the San Diego Zoo on Monday, August 19, 2024. As part of their visit, the band had the chance to witness the newly arrived pandas, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao, the first to enter the United States in 21 years. Since their arrival in late June, the pandas have been acclimating to their new environment at the recently renovated Panda Ridge.
During their visit, the band, led by Salvador Lizárraga, emphasized the importance of wildlife conservation and awareness. In an interview, Lizárraga remarked, “It’s a gift of life to witness this. It’s fascinating to combine the worlds of music and nature. It blesses you with the realization that we must preserve our world.” The new Panda Ridge is four times larger than the zoo’s previous panda habitat and is inspired by the lush landscapes of the giant pandas’ native provinces—Sichuan, Gansu, and Shanxi.
Lizárraga also expressed his commitment to using the band’s platform to promote environmental awareness among their followers. “We sell entertainment, shows, and music, but we have the blessing of an audience that listens to us. It doesn’t hurt to talk about these important environmental issues,” said the musician known for hits like “Si pudiera” and “Que me digan loco.”
“Momentos,” set for release on August 21, will feature 11 tracks centered on the unique moments in life, celebrating the approaching 60-year milestone of La Original Banda El Limón. “As we near our 60th anniversary, we realize life is made up of moments. They’ve taught us that the future is uncertain, so the reflection for this new album is to live the present to the fullest,” added Lizárraga.
The band’s visit coincides with the grand opening of the new Panda Ridge, which officially opened on August 8, symbolizing a fusion of musical heritage and environmental stewardship.

The Zoo’s leadership stressed the importance of such facilities in educating the public and enhancing breeding programs aimed at increasing the panda population. “Preserving species and their habitats is at the heart of what we do. The arrival of Yun Chuan and Xin Bao not only enriches our zoo but also represents hope for panda conservation worldwide,” said a zoo spokesperson.
