**Baja California Shines in National Popular Games**
Baja California made a remarkable showing at the 2024 National Popular Games in Oaxaca, securing a total of nine medals. Over 3,000 athletes from 29 states competed in disciplines such as Boxing, Martial Arts, 6×6 Soccer, and Flag Football.
Valentina Orrantia Álvarez was the first to earn medals for Baja California, capturing gold in short weapon forms and bronze in the 10-12 years intermediate category for freehand forms. Rafael Ávalos also stood out, securing bronze in the long weapon forms in the 18-25 advanced category.
The women’s team in the 2010-2012 category clinched the championship in Flag Football. In Boxing, the delegation, led by champion Aris Evander García Soto, racked up the most medals. Yeimi Leonardo Serena Félix and Britani Rivero García captured silver medals, while Roberto López and Héctor Macías won bronze.
Overall, the team brought home three gold, two silver, and four bronze medals from venues including Polideportivo Venustiano Carranza, Complejo Deportivo Hermanos Flores Magón, and the Oaxaca Institute of Technology.
