Excitement Builds for the SCORE San Felipe 250 in Baja California
Baja California is all set to host the much-anticipated 38th edition of the SCORE San Felipe 250, an annual highlight for off-road racing enthusiasts. Taking place from April 3 to April 6, this event is known for its challenging desert terrain and international appeal. With strong backing from Governor Marina del Pilar and the local government, the race not only promises thrilling sports action but also aims to draw attention to the region’s tourism potential.
As it stands, 234 teams from various countries—including Argentina, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Mexico—have signed up to compete. With registration ongoing until April 3, more teams are expected to join the fray.
“The SCORE San Felipe 250 is more than just a race; it’s a significant boost for our tourism industry,” said State Tourism Secretary Miguel AguÃñiga RodrÃguez. “It showcases Baja California as a prime destination that blends sport, adventure, and exceptional hospitality.”
This year’s challenging 250-mile course tests the limits of both vehicles and drivers as it weaves through San Felipe’s extreme desert landscape. Participants have already begun preparing for the unique technical challenges the course presents.
Event Schedule:
– Thursday, April 3: Trophy Trucks participate in a special qualification round.
– Friday, April 4: The festivities commence with official mechanical inspections (Tech & Contingency), giving fans, media, and racers a chance to meet.
– Saturday, April 5: The action kicks off at 6:00 a.m. with Motorcycles and Quads, followed by the Four-wheel vehicles at 10:00 a.m.
– Sunday, April 6: The event concludes with an award ceremony honoring the achievements of the competitors.
