Preparations Underway in Baja California for National Boxing Class
In a significant show of enthusiasm and participation, approximately 200 individuals gathered on Sunday, March 16, for a comprehensive rehearsal of the national boxing class, “Boxing for Peace,” at the Avenida Revolución in Tijuana. This event saw an impressive turnout from children, teenagers, and adults alike and is part of an initiative supported by the Government of Mexico and the Professional Teaching Development Program.
The assembly was skillfully led by Laura Marmolejo, the director of the State Institute of Sport and Physical Culture (INDE), alongside Erik Morales, the director from Tijuana’s Secretariat of Welfare. This large-scale engagement underscores the event’s profound impact on the local sporting community.
“We successfully carried out the rehearsal preparing us for the official event on April 6. We have the full backing of the Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, and, of course, prominent boxing figures will be present to encourage physical activity, strengthen the community, and promote boxing as a catalyst for social change,” stated the INDE director.
Authorities are extending a warm invitation to the community to participate in the national boxing class, where attendees will have the chance to meet renowned boxers and be part of a record-breaking attempt for the largest attendance in a boxing class.
