### Investment Halt in Baja California Due to Judicial Reform and Government Transition

Investment projects in Baja California have come to a standstill amidst growing uncertainty surrounding the judicial reform and impending government transition, according to the president of the Tijuana Business Coordination Council (CCE), Carlos Jaramillo Silva.

Jaramillo emphasized that investors are awaiting the outcomes of these constitutional changes and are hesitant to proceed until there is more clarity about how these reforms will unfold. “In terms of decision-making, we see that investment expectations are on hold, waiting to see the resolutions and their implications over the next 60 days. We are not witnessing an exodus of investments, but rather a pause as investors await the outcomes,” he stated.

The uncertainty is affecting all sectors, compounded by the simultaneous changes in government and the unknown economic policies of the forthcoming federal administration. Jaramillo called for open dialogue among all branches of government and urged for the voices of civil society to be heard to avoid any regression in democratic life.

“All of us want the best for Mexico. To build this country, all voices need to be heard and respected. The current judicial reform proposal does not reflect this. If voices were being heard, the proposals reaching Congress would be very different,” Jaramillo expressed.

Despite the current work stoppage within the Federal Judiciary (PJF), urgent matters continue to be addressed, highlighting the importance of the ongoing judicial system reforms. “This is a crucial issue for our country. If the judicial system is on hold, it’s because it’s a matter of great significance. We have one of the most relevant reforms in Mexico’s history in our hands, and it’s critical that all voices are heard,” he concluded.
