## Creation of an Excellence Catalog in Health and Wellness Tourism
On Friday, September 27, a new catalog dedicated to Health and Wellness Tourism was unveiled, aimed at providing patients with reliable information about certified doctors and medical facilities.
Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism in Baja California, noted at the event held at the West Plaza Hotel that the catalog comprises service providers and doctors across various specialties, all certified by the Health Department.
“For all visitors and locals looking for health and wellness treatments, this catalog ensures that they have access to credentialed professionals and certified facilities, ensuring they are being treated by qualified doctors and institutions,” he emphasized.
This initiative, also supported by the State Commission for the Protection against Health Risks (Coepris) and the Health Department, already includes 30 registered medical service providers.
Aguíñiga Rodríguez specified that a promotional campaign will be launched in California, considering that 90% of foreign patients seeking medical procedures at this border are from the United States, with the rest coming from Canada.
Since 2023, Coepris manages the State Registry of Health and Wellness Service Providers (Repssabi), listing clinics, ambulances, pharmacies, laboratories, consulting rooms, and more that meet the necessary operational requirements.
The Medical Tourism cluster in the region indicates that Dentistry and Bariatrics are the most sought-after specialties, followed by Internal Medicine, Plastic Surgery, and Cardiology. Fertility treatments are also on the rise.
“The catalog is open to any clinic, hospital, doctor, spa, meditation, or treatment center wishing to join, as long as they meet all required criteria,” added Aguíñiga Rodriguez.
