Contrary to reports from some media outlets suggesting that Zavala had died from his injuries, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed that there were no records of a fatality at the Baja Beach Fest. Additionally, the police in Playas de Rosarito did not receive any reports concerning the brawl or any injuries resulting from the incident.
María Elena Andrade Ramírez, the head of the FGE, stated that a homicide that occurred in Playas de Rosarito over the weekend was unrelated to the music festival, but she did not provide further details.
