Baja Clubs Expand Statewide

Expansion of Boys and Girls Clubs in Baja California: New centers to open in San Quintín, Ensenada, Mexicali, and Tijuana. Collaboration with local authorities crucial for reaching underserved areas.

### New Clubs for Boys and Girls to Open Across All Municipalities of Baja California

The organization behind the Boys and Girls Club is set to expand its reach in the southern part of Baja California. New centers will be established in San Quintín, Ensenada, and Mexicali. Enrique Gamboa Núñez, the founder of the first Boys and Girls Club in Mexico and Latin America, also announced plans to open another center in the southwestern area of Tijuana.

Gamboa Núñez mentioned ongoing discussions with newly elected mayors regarding the donation of more lands to facilitate the opening of additional centers with state government support. “We are working closely with the state government and the new mayor of Ensenada to open another center in Valle de Guadalupe,” he added.

Currently, land donations have already been secured in Mexicali, San Quintín, and San Felipe. At present, there are three Boys and Girls Clubs in Baja California – two in Tijuana and one in Playas de Rosarito – serving approximately 900 children. These clubs offer after-school development programs for children and youth aged 6 to 16 from high-risk communities.

### Additional News on the Expansion of Boys and Girls Clubs:

In further developments related to the expansion, it has been revealed that the Boys and Girls Club will include workshops on self-care and protection in their upcoming summer camps. These initiatives are crucial as they align with the organization’s aim to provide holistic development opportunities for children and teenagers.

Given the high demand for such services, collaboration with local authorities continues to be a pivotal factor. Gamboa Núñez emphasized the necessity of these partnerships to establish more centers, particularly in under-served areas. This strategic expansion helps fulfill the organization’s mission to support the youth of Baja California comprehensively.
