**Baja California Security Chief Remains Unfazed Despite Threatening Banners**

Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar Durán, the head of the Baja California State Security Department (SSCBC), has confirmed that no additional security measures have been implemented following the appearance of threatening banners mentioning his name. Despite these threats, Durán remains committed to his duties.

“These situations have occurred historically and will continue to occur. However, our work is always aligned with ensuring the safety of Baja Californians,” Durán remarked.

Durán highlighted that his security team is nationally accredited and has passed all necessary trust examinations. “I have no concerns; criminals and detractors may not realize that we are under constant monitoring by both state and federal authorities,” he added.

Durán also stated that he intends to continue his work with the corporation and is currently unaware of the motives behind the threatening messages or who might be responsible for them. “There are many hypotheses as to who may be behind it—it could be affected criminal groups, political entities, or personal interests. We must understand that we are in a period of power transition,” he explained.

Furthermore, Durán pointed out that the upcoming administrative changes across Baja California’s seven municipalities, the local Congress, and at the federal levels are often exploited by various political, economic, social, and criminal groups seeking their own benefits.

“Although we are not exempt from these scenarios, we view them as they are and report to our Internal Control Body and Sedena for appropriate actions,” Durán concluded.
