In a heartfelt ceremony organized by the Baja California Institute of Sport and Physical Culture (INDEBC), under the leadership of Laura Marmolejo Toscano, the state paid tribute to its delegation that represented Baja California in the recent CONADE 2024 Para-National Games. These competitions took place in Oaxaca and Tlaxcala.

Baja California’s para-athletes excelled, bringing home a total of 73 medals, which surpassed last year’s achievements in Cancún, Quintana Roo. The para-swimming team was standout, earning 44 medals. The ceremony was held on Saturday, October 19, at the multi-purpose gymnasium of the High-Performance Center (CAR), where financial rewards were given to medal-winning athletes from sports like para-swimming, para-athletics, boccia, and para-powerlifting.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of symbolic checks to standout athletes including Eduardo Ramos Escamilla (Boccia), Galilea Flores Velázquez (Para-athletics), and Stephane Flores Velázquez (Para-swimming). The ceremony featured messages of pride and recognition from para-swimming coach Zahira Reynoso, the state government’s deputy secretary-general Elvia Martínez, and state sports director Marmolejo Toscano, all praising the achievements of the Baja California delegation at the CONADE 2024 Para-National Games.
